Eraser is an advanced security tool which allows you to
completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by
overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns.
Eraser's source code is released under GNU General Public
License. The patterns used for overwriting are based on Peter
Guttmann's paper "Secure Deletion of Data from Magnetic and
Solid-State Memory" and they are selected to effectively remove
magnetic remnants from the hard drive. Other methods include the
one defined in the National Industrial Security Program
Operating Manual of the US Department of Defence and overwriting
with pseudorandom data. You can also define your own overwriting

installed on your system, make sure you uninstall it before
installing the latest version.]

accelerator and manager. You can easily download a list of files
and whole web sites from any remote server via HTTP, HTTPS and
FTP. FDM has an intuitive and user-friendly interface. FDM can
resume broken downloads (and it warns you if resuming isn't
supported by the servers). You can schedule the following
operations: set or hang up the Internet connection, exit from
the program and shutdown the computer. If you want to browse web
pages faster with a low speed connection FDM lets you adjust
traffic usage. Note: Avoid v 1.45 beta. It contains NavHelper
(malware) (installation is optional).
